COMMERCIAL INSTALLATION

203 kW solar system for Shelbourne Motors

Renewable energy for the motortrade

The Shelbourne Motors solar project involved the installation of a large-scale commercial solar photovoltaic system designed to significantly reduce grid dependency and long-term carbon impact.

A total of 473 high-performance panels from SOLARWATT were installed, creating a 203 kW solar PV system. Once operational, the system is expected to generate over 154,000 kWh of clean electricity every year, providing a substantial on-site energy supply for the building.

The installation will cover more than 51 percent of the site’s annual electricity demand, immediately reducing exposure to rising energy costs while improving energy security. By generating power at the point of use, the system enables the organisation to rely less on imported grid electricity and take greater control over its energy consumption.

From a sustainability perspective, the impact is equally significant. The system delivers annual carbon savings equivalent to planting approximately 7,300 trees or removing 39 tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere each year. These reductions contribute meaningfully to environmental targets and support long-term decarbonisation goals.

This project demonstrates how well-designed commercial solar systems can deliver measurable financial and environmental benefits at scale. By combining high-quality solar technology with a system sized to real-world demand, the installation provides reliable performance, strong sustainability credentials and long-term value.
