After another successful year of trading, Solar Power NI saw rapid growth in the solar power sector in 2022.
Driven by the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, soaring electricity prices, and a growing consciousness of being less reliant on the grid, the UK renewable energy sector as a whole grew by 48% in 2022.
Production of renewable energy systems such as battery storage and solar panels is set to continue accelerating over the next few years.
In 2020, the UK residential solar production capacity was 2.9 gigawatts. That grew by 34% to 3.9 gigawatts in 2021. Through 2022, the industry continued to set quarterly growth records, adding more capacity each consecutive quarter.
Installing 12,000 panels in Northern Ireland
Solar Power NI installed 4 MW (4,000 KW) from sales in 2022, which is the equivalent of around 12,000 panels in and around Belfast.
The energy produced from these panels will power the equivalent of over 500 homes every year for the next few decades.
We can say this confidently as Solarwatt have leading 30-year product and performance guarantees.
The energy roadmap
As the government and individuals look at more ways to save money, the energy roadmap consists of these three aspects:
- saving energy
- producing clean energy
- diversifying energy supplies
Solar Power NI offers installation of full solar power systems for both home and business, along with being Northern Ireland’s preferred supplier of the libbi battery system, which will be available in early 2023.
